Kids and Cops Holiday Shop began in 2001 as a partnership with the Albemarle County Police Department to give some Albemarle County children an extra special experience in place of a Toy Lift box. Schools are asked to nominate a deserving student who is in need and can benefit from an opportunity to bond with an officer.

In 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011 we partnered with officers from Albemarle Police, Charlottesville Police, Fluvanna County Sherriff's Office, Town of Orange Police, Gordonsville Police, Orange County Resource Officers, and VA State Police. 15 children from Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Greene and Orange to have lunch and go shopping with an officer. The event was coordinated by the Kids Lift Foundation.
